The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has decided to carry forward the process of hearing on the proposed names for the appointment of apex court justices. The committee decided following prolonged discussion and debate among its members on how to advance the hearing when the tenure of the committee was about to expire.
A meeting of the Judicial Council on August 27 had nominated Chief Judge of High Court Tulsipur Neeta Gautam Dixit, Judge of Patan High Court Binod Sharma, and senior advocate Dr. Dinanath Parajuli for apex court justices and sent their names to advance parliamentary hearing.
The committee has decided to publish a 10-day public notice for registering any complaints and grievances on the names of the proposed apex court justices.
